UNC Charlotte volunteers went to James Martin Middle School to discuss the different STEM college majors and answer any questions with the middle school students. Students were able to sample a chemistry lab atmosphere by participating in a chemical flame test.
UNC Charlotte held the annual Colors of Chemistry day-long program where children from a variety of schools were able to participate in hands-on activities, including colorful slime, colorful lather printing, and the M&M color wheel. A demonstration show and t-shirt tie dying ended the exciting day.
UNC Charlotte volunteers attend the Highland Creek Elementary's Math & Science Night. Students were introduced to the different chemical reactions that take place within the firework to make a variety of colors.
High school juniors and seniors were invited to UNC Charlotte to learn concepts surrounding the area of nanoscale science including interactive demos making carbon nanotubes out of balloons.
